  • Evolution: For most of its early history, it was a carbolic soap containing phenol, recognizable by its bright red color and sharp scent.

  • Current Technology: Modern Lifebuoy soaps no longer use phenol. Instead, they feature an “Activ Silver” or “Activ5” formula designed to penetrate germ walls and kill infection-causing bacteria.
